Water supply restrictions are expected to continue over the coming days, according to a number local authorities.
South Dublin County Council have already announced that they are shutting down water supplies in Lucan and North Clondalkin until further notice, while Cork County Council have said they are experiencing record high flows from all Cork reservoirs due to a large number of burst pipes following the cold snap of recent days.
The Sligo County Council have also appealed to householders and businesses to limit water usage to just essential needs, while extensive disruptions to water suplies in Abbeyfeale Town, Limerick, are also expected.
Kilkenny County Council will today make water available for collection from a number of hydrant stand pipes in Kilkenny City.
