Warwick set to leave Munster for Stade Francais

Munster utility back Paul Warwick is set to leave the province with reports emerging that the Australian has agreed a deal in principle with French side Stade Francais.

Warwick is reportedly unimpressed with the one year contract extension offered to him by Munster and is thought to have agreed a three year deal with Stade, who are coached by former Leinster man Michael Cheika.

The 29-year old will apparently reconsider his decision, however, if Munster come back to him with an improved offer. In January 2009 he was involved in a tug-of-war with Munster and London Irish having reportedly agreed to signing a three-year deal with the Premiership club.

The issue was resolved in April when it was announced that he would be staying for an extra year.

Warwick, who is comfortable at both full back and out half, has been a vital member of the Munster squad since joining the province from Connacht in 2007 and has made 80 appearances for Tony McGahan’s side.
