Westboro Baptist Church announce protest for Steve Jobs funeral… on an iPhone

The always-controversial Westboro Baptist Church have outdone themselves this time, after a member announced their plans to picket Steve Jobs funeral... on an iPhone.

One of the family members of the church, Margie Phelps, took to her Twitter account last night upon hearing the news of the former Apple CEO's death. She then tweeted:

"Westboro will picket his funeral. He had a huge platform; gave God no glory & taught sin."

However, her hateful tweet brought endless retweets and mocking once users realised that the tweet itself had been sent from one of Jobs' most creations, the iPhone. Take a look below:

Evidently, the endless direct tweets that mocked her musings didn't deter Margie, who later tweeted responses to respectful tweets regarding Jobs with two hashtags, '#eternaltormentnow' and '#hellgreetedhim'. They're a classy bunch, we're sure you'll agree...

The church and its members, who have been featured in two Louis Theroux documentaries for the BBC, won worldwide infamy from their original pickets that stated that US deaths in Afghanistan and Iraq are punishment for Americans' immorality, including tolerance of homosexuality and abortion.

UPDATE: Margie Phelps evidently saw our link earlier today and was kind enough to respond to this article directly. Here's her response and in her defence, we forget to fact-check God as the actual creator of the iPhone, not Steve Jobs:
