Which Madrid player is headed to Spurs in the Bale deal?

Speculation has been rife with Bale in the form of his life that he'll be trading one white shirt in London for another in Madrid, but who's headed the other way?

It's hardly a secret that those in charge at Madrid have been, at the very least, making fancy eyes at Gareth Bale for the past few months, and as he just so happens to be in the best form of his career (and possibly the best form of anyone in the league), they keep adding more zeroes to the cheque they have with Daniel Levy's name on it.

But it's beginning to look like they might have to start forking over more than just cash as Spurs up their demands for the young Welshman.

According to Spanish daily Marca, Tottenham have expressed interest in bringing in Gonzalo Higuain, who's been an irregular starter for the Madrid giants. This would also allow Madrid to lessen the impact of Bale's transfer fee, rumoured to be in the region of €50-70 million.

With Spurs looking like they're headed for Champions League football, the deal would make sense for both parties, but might not thrill Spurs fans who don't want to see Bale leaving White Hart Lane.
