White iPhone delayed to 2011

The white version was supposed to launch in June, with the black iPhone 4, but Apple cited manufacturing issues at the time, and pushed the hadnsets launch back a month. That deadline passed, with Apple stating that the handset would be available by the end of the year, but it has now been announced that the white iPhone 4 will not be available until early 2011.

“We’re sorry to disappoint customers waiting for the white iPhone yet again, but we’ve decided to delay its release until spring,” said Apple spokesman Trudy Muller.

Plenty of online rumours have pointed to various manufacturing problems, such as issues with the device's backlight and colour-matching problems as the actual cause for the continuous delays.
