According to a new survey, women who play video games have more sex (and actually enjoy it) compared to their non-gaming counterparts.
There is a certain something sexy about a girl that can kick your ass in the vast expanse of a Battlefield 3 war zone. Having said that, gaming girls are also a tad scarier than other girls. Now we’re hearing that female gamers actually have more sex than their non-gaming counter parts.
According to a new survey conducted by Harris Interactive on behalf of GameHouse, among the 2,000 random participants, 55 per cent of those who were classed as online gamers were, wait for it… women. At least 57 per cent of girls who would class themselves as a gamer (PC, console, social media) have and enjoy more sex compared to just 52 per cent of non-gaming women.
Overall, girls who ‘got game’ were generally happier and in more satisfying relationships than girls who didn’t play games. Gamer girls were also more likely to socialise with friends and family through social media and in person, however, it was found that only a minority of women play games to ‘just socialise’. They were more likely to play games in order to release stress or to just turn their brain off for a bit.
The survey also showed that both groups of women watched around the same amount of TV.
“Maybe if we all watched a little less TV and played more games online, we’d all be having a little more sex,” said Matt Hulett , chief gamer at GameHouse, a division of RealNetworks.
“Joking aside, this survey matches up with our internal data that women are widely embracing online games with 63% of GameHouse players being women. It’s nice to know that females who play online games are happy – both in their relationships and even in the bedroom.”
