It rained an awful lot in Ulster last night, leaving one of the country’s most famed GAA grounds under water.
From Donegal to Belfast, the northern end of the island of Ireland was hit with a huge volume of rain yesterday evening. After three or four days of heavy rain, last night’s thunderstorms were simply too much for many sodden areas, including the hallowed turf of Healy Park in Omagh.
Late last night the club who own the ground, Omagh St Enda’s, tweeted some pictures to show just what the weather had done to the surface.

We hope the damage is minimal and that the playing surface is back up and running as quickly as possible.
