Detective Bunk Moreland is a happy man this evening.
Christy Fagan’s double was enough to give St Patrick’s Athletic a 2-0 win over Derry City in the FAI Cup Final at the Aviva Stadium, ending 53 years without a win in the competition.
Having given his side the lead with a scrappy finish, Fagan capitalised on a Barry Molloy mistake to seal the win in injury time.
St. Pat’s most famous fan – Wendell Pierce from The Wire – is thrilled.

May not be the biggest crowd for a #FAICupFinal but the atmosphere is coming across very well on TV. — Darren O’Connor (@Darren_O_Connor) November 2, 2014

Someone has just asked me why the FAI Cup final is being played behind closed doors. Harsh but fair.
