It’s just like watching Barcelona.
The current Manchester United side are down a body or ten ahead of what’s shaping up to be a crucial clash with Arsenal at the Emirates tomorrow and how they’d love to be able to call on a few of their players from the late 90s and early 2000s, when they were a dominant force in Europe.
The Treble in 1999 was obviously the high point for that bunch of players but arguably the best goal they ever scored was in a Champions League tie against Panathinaikos on November 21, 2000.
Unsurprisingly, it was scored by Paul Scholes and it was a goal that had everything; a patient build-up full of precise passing, brilliant movement, a divine touch for the final pass by Teddy Sheringham and the coup de grace, that wonderful and cheeky chipped finish by the ginger magician himself.

In the words of a famous BBC commentator, you have to say that’s magnificent.
