If you’re going to troll a high-profile footballer on Twitter, do it properly or be prepared to suffer the consequences.
When you’re a high-profile footballer on Twitter, mindless abuse is, unfortunately, something that comes with the territory.
Most players rightfully ignore most of it that comes their way, but sometimes an opportunity arises to cut a troll down to size and Petr Cech availed of such an opportunity in splendid fashion last night.
Jan Oblak’s performance between the sticks in Atletico Madrid’s 0-0 draw with Real Madrid last night was the subject of rave reviews, with one fan feeling the need to tell Cech that Oblak would soon be taking his place in the Czech Republic national side.
With one line and a few appropriate emojis, Cech was more than happy to inform the troll in question why that is never going to happen.
https://t.co/OUgDDpTKzt. I doubt that as Slovenian he could play for the Czech team 😂😯😮🙈🙊😳
