Michael Murphy will not play in Galway clash – Brendan Devenney

Big news coming out of Donegal

Is this a huge risk or some smart player management?

Michael Murphy will sit out Donegal’s Round 4 qualifier game against Galway this evening according to former Donegal player Brendan Devenney.

The now retired forward was speaking on UTV’s Friday Night Sport where he said the star full-forward would not play today due to a knee injury.

“Murphy’s out, 100 per cent,” said Devenney. “They’re keeping him back for the next game.”

It was revealed during the week that both Murphy and Paddy McBrearty had been suffering from injuries during the Ulster Final and with Murphy in particular seeming to struggle greatly during the clash with Monaghan.

Murphy is named to start in today’s clash but according to Devenney, he will play no part in the clash against the Tribesmen.

Does Devenney know something we don’t? It would appear so…
