Website calculates ideal time to fall asleep depending on what time you need to wake

No more cranky mornings.

JOE

Never be tired again.

How many times have you woke up after what you feel was a good night’s sleep but you’re still as tired as when you went to bed.

Getting a good night’s sleep is about much more than getting an early night, it all depends on waking up at the right time as well.

Web-blinds have created a formula based on the body’s natural rhythm called the Sleep Calculator which figures out the best time to rise or fall asleep.

For example, if you want to wake up at 8am, these are the best times to fall asleep at according to Web-blinds…

There is a big gap between the first ideal time to go to sleep against the very latest time. They vary from 10:46pm to 3:16am meaning you could get nine hours or less than five hours and still feel on top of the world.

We will try anything that helps us feel fresh and alert in the morning and Web-blinds base their calculations on Rapid Eye Movement (REM) and the five stages of the sleep cycle.

We go from light sleep (stage 1) to deep sleep (sleep 4) and then to REM which is when we are most likely to have a dream.

If we are woken suddenly midway through a cycle, say by an alarm clock or a noise, we are more likely to be grumpy and tired leaving bed in the morning.

On average, it takes about 14 minutes to fall asleep and sleep cycles take around 90 minutes to happen so ideal scenario is that you would be woken up just as you’re coming out of a phase and this is what the company are trying to do with their calculations.
