The Press Up Entertainment group is to build a brand new, 134-bedroom hotel in Galway city.
Having received planning permission for the site at Prospect Hill in the city last September, Ireland’s fastest growing pub and restaurant group is to build a hotel that will also house two bars, according to a report in The Irish Times.
Press Up are reported to have paid €4.5m to acquire the land on Prospect Hill, which includes numbers 80, 82, 84 and 86 – Number 80 was formerly a dry cleaners.
The organisation currently has plans to open as many as nine new hospitality venues over the coming year; The Devlin Hotel in Ranelagh, Dublin will open its doors this summer.
Also in development is a 140-bedroom hotel in Cork, a cocktail bar on Dublin’s Aungier Street called The Dutch Billy, while the group has also purchased the Elephant & Castle restaurant in Temple Bar.
