1.54 million Covid-19 vaccine doses were administered last month.
HSE CEO Paul Reid has said that over 18,000 people have availed of walk-in vaccination centres so far in what he called “an inspiring weekend” for Ireland’s vaccination programme.
Last week, it was announced that 38 walk-in vaccination centres ran by the HSE will be in operation throughout the country over the Bank Holiday weekend.
Anyone aged over 16 can attend the walk-in centres for a first dose. A text message will then be sent with an appointment for dose two.
In a Twitter post on Monday, the HSE chief said the walk-in vaccination centres will be continuing today in 26 locations.
He stated that people of all ages have been attending the centres, with 50% aged 16-17 years-old and 64% aged 19 or under.
