Travelling conditions have been described as ‘hazardous’.
There have been reports of chaotic road conditions across Ireland as snow continues to fall throughout the country.
Having reported earlier this week that there was a “chance of snow on high ground”, Met Éireann has issued two Status Yellow snow-ice warnings that have already taken effect.
The first applies to Cavan, Dublin, Kildare, Leitrim, Longford, Monaghan, Roscommon, Sligo and Westmeath and is set to last until midday on Friday (1 March).
The other is just for Wicklow and is scheduled to apply until 3pm.
