Kerry to exhilarating watersports along the Atlantic coast, there are so many thrilling activities just waiting for you to try this summer, and they're even better when enjoyed with friends. Round up your buddies, or get the family group-chat buzzing with your next adventure-packed day. Here is just a sample of some of our favourite group activities.

The Dingle Way Walking Trail, Co. Kerry

This hiking trail takes roughly 8 days to complete, but it offers unparalleled views of the Dingle Peninsula. This route starts and ends in the bustling town of Tralee, and takes you across the foothills of Slieve Mish and leads you over the shoulder of Mount Brandon and to Slea Head. On the Dingle Way, you'll get stunning vistas of the Atlantic Ocean, as well as the tranquil farmland. This is a challenging route but if you fancied something more moderate, you can select a shorter section of it to walk. The Dingle to Dunquin trail, for instance, takes 5 hours and 30 minutes to complete. Regardless of which route you take, you can expect diverse landscapes and picturesque views at every turn.

Clonakilty Park Adventure Centre, Co. Cork

Get the adrenaline pumping this summer with a visit to Clonakilty Park Adventure Centre in Co. Cork. Challenge yourself with the high ropes course, zip-line off the 65ft climbing tower or, for a thrill like no other, take a leap off the power fan jump. As well as these high-flying activities, Clonakilty Adventure Centre also offers a maritime themed 18-hole adventure golf course. Afterwards, when post-adventure hunger calls, hit up the Food Truck and tuck into pizza, sandwiches and snacks. The centre itself is open on weekends, but adventure gold is open on weekday evenings and throughout the weekend.

Atlantic Sea Kayaking, Skibbereen, Co. Cork

Based near the buzzy town of Skibbereen in Co. Cork, an adventure with Atlantic Sea Kayaking brings you up close and personal to the dramatic Cork coast for a truly unique experience. Atlantic Sea Kayaking offers numerous tours, including adventures around Castlehaven Bay and a trip to Lough Hyne, Europe's only inland seawater lake. As well as theses daytime options, Atlantic Sea Kayaking operates tranquil night tours. These breathtaking tours allow you to watch the sun set and the moon rise over the Lough Hyne, before the calm waters dazzle with bioluminescence, which is usually visible between April and September.

Tralee Fenit Greenway, Co. Kerry

One of the most sustainable ways to explore Ireland this summer is by taking advantage of our many Greenways, and the Tralee Fenit Greenway is among the most picturesque. This 13.6km of off-road trail takes cyclists and walkers from Tralee, Kerry's largest town, to the peaceful seaside village of Kerry. Along the way, you'll pass through the stunning landscapes of County Kerry, including views of the Dingle Peninsula. Once you reach Fenit, sample some local cuisine in one of the many restaurants.

Ballyhoura Mountain Bike Trails

As Ireland's largest network of mountain bike trails, Ballyhoura makes for a cyclist's paradise. Chose from moderate trails, like the 6km Greenwood Loop, or if you really want to challenge yourself, embark on the Castlepook Loop, which is just over 50km in length. Bring your own bike, or rent one from Trailriders Mountain Bike Hire. As well as the expansive mountain biking routes, there are plenty of walking and hiking trails in the area, with highlights including the Attychraan Loop and the Ballinaboola Woods.

Kinsale Surf Adventures, Co. Cork

Part of what makes the Wild Atlantic Way so wild, is the dramatic coastline, and a lesson with Kinsale Surf Adventures captures the spirit of this region. Based in Garretstown Beach, which is a 10 minute drive from Kinsale, this surf school will equip you with everything you need to star your surfing journey. Learn proper technique and enjoy the rolling waves of the Atlantic with a group lesson from Kinsale Surf Adventures.
