On Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th August, Super Car Weekend will be coming to Dundrum Town Centre with a jam-packed programme guaranteed to delight car lovers. The complimentary event will be taking over the Red Car Park on Level 1 between 10am to 5pm, and we’ve got the scoop on what you can expect.
Indeed, with a stellar collection of cars on display, some great panel discussions, unmissable immersive experiences and your chance to spend a weekend with Tesla’s new Performance Unprgraded Model 3, we’re counting down the days to Super Car Weekend.
Here’s what we’re excited for:
The chance to see over 100 high-end prestigious vehicles
It wouldn’t be Super Car Weekend without some stunning cars on display, including the iconic Aston Martin DB5, which was, of course, 007’s car of choice. Another vehicle must-see is the world-class McLaren Senna, worth €2 million. Inspired by McLaren’s greatest driver and F1 icon Ayrton Senna, this limited-edition ‘hyper car’ boasts innovative aerodynamics which were developed to generate extreme levels of down force.
But that’s not all. Other vehicles on display this weekend include the BMW M2, the Ferrari F430, the Nissan 350Z with 280 bhp, 15 Ferraris, 10 Porsches, 7 Aston Martins, 3 generations of the Ford GT40 and 3 of Bentley’s newest models.
A spotlight on women in motorsports
Super Car Weekend will be shining a light on some of the incredible female race-car drivers with in conversation sessions with Nicole Drought, Kelsey Kirby and Laura Hannon. These drivers will be tackling some of the unique challenges they face in the field, while chatting the future of the sport and highlighting the success of Irish women in motorsport. Former race car driver Leo Nulty will lead these panels, which take place at 1pm on Saturday and Sunday.
Immersive experiences
Ever wondered what it’s like to be in the driving seat of a race car? Well this is your chance! The Mondello Park Simulator Experience will be available to test drive at Super Car Weekend. This fully immersive, risk-free environment uses top-tier equipment to deliver an ultra-realistic racing experience. What’s more, the driver with the fastest lap will win a BMW Driving Experience worth €269 from Mondello Park.
This BMW Driving Experience isn’t the only prize up for grabs. One lucky attendee could also win a weekend with Tesla’s new Performance Upgraded Model 3. To be in with a shot, head to the Tesla stand where you can enter the competition and learn more about their vehicles.
Dundrum Town Centre will also give super fans the chance to transform into an F1 driver, thanks to an AI immersive photo booth experience. Tickets cost €5 and that includes the photo souvenir which you can take home.
The Road Safety Authority will also be bringing their immersive VR activation Consequences to Super Car Weekend. This powerful and attention-demanding experience users VR to transport users through a series of hard-hitting scenes and vignettes that illustrate the impact of drink-driving on Irish roads. Consequences drives home the message drink-driving wrecks lives.
