The ultimate comfort food mash up from Fit Foods

There are some food combos that make so much sense you wonder how nobody did them sooner.

But don't fear, as Fit Foods has just landed on exactly that with its brand-new Lasagne Mac N’ Cheese range.

Yep. Someone finally went and combined lasagne and mac & cheese into one dish. Honestly, how did this not exist already?

The new range takes everything people love about both comfort food classics, rich lasagne flavour and creamy mac & cheese, and throws them together in one seriously satisfying ready meal.

Combining the rich, savoury flavours of a classic lasagne with the creamy, indulgent comfort of mac and cheese, it’s a bold move, but honestly, it sounds like the kind of thing people will be buzzing to check out.

What’s in the new range?

Fit Foods is launching three Lasagne Mac N’ Cheese meals:

  • Original Lasagne Mac N’ Cheese
  • Smoky BBQ Lasagne Mac N’ Cheese
  • Chipotle Lasagne Mac N’ Cheese

Even better, they're high in protein and come in at under 500 calories, so you get all the comfort food vibes without the usual heavy hit.

Ready in just five minutes, these meals are ideal for lunch, a quick midweek dinner, or a cosy night in when you can’t be bothered cooking yourself.

There’s a solid Irish story behind the launch, too.

Fit Foods is an Irish-owned, family-run brand, born from a butcher shop in Swords, Co. Dublin, which originated on Moore St. back in the 1940s.

Today, the meals are still made in their own factory in Monaghan, where the company continues to be a proud local employer.

The brand is owned by parent company DMC Foods, which produces the ready meals for its flagship brand, Fit Foods, and private label ranges from its great-tasting food that fits into real life.

Rather than going heavy on fitness messaging, Fit Foods positions itself as food for everyday people.

The kind of meals that help when you’re busy, hungry and trying to get on with your day.

Gillian Clarke, Marketing Director at DMC Foods, said: “Our butcher heritage gives us a deep respect for ingredients and flavour. We focus on meals that taste homemade because they’re crafted by real people and are quick, satisfying, balanced and full of flavour.”

Brian O’Leary, CEO of DMC Foods, added: “Consumers are looking for exciting flavours without compromising on convenience, and this product delivers exactly that. By fusing two iconic comfort foods, we’re bringing genuine innovation to the lasagne category and offering shoppers something completely new.”

Where can you get it

The Lasagne Mac N' Cheese range lands in Dunnes and Tesco stores around the country from April 13th, and of course in Dublin Meat Company shops.

And if you’re in the UK, the Original Lasagne Mac N’ Cheese will also be available in Morrisons.

Want to try it for free?

Fit Foods is also rolling out a couple of activations around the launch, so if you want to try the range or grab a meal, there are a few chances to do it.

“Lunches On Us” at Grand Canal DART Station

Fit Foods will also pop up at Grand Canal DART Station on Tuesday, 21 April for a Lunches On Us giveaway, where commuters can pick up a Lasagne Mac N’ Cheese meal to heat up later for lunch. All three flavours will be available.

There’s also be in-aisle takeovers in both Tesco and Dunnes Stores.
