What a glorious day it was outside today; well, from this particular writer’s vantage point it was anyway.
If the weather was poor in your area, I am quite sorry and I did not mean to gloat.
But as the sun sets this evening and you settle on your couch, these are the movies on TV that will keep you entertained.
Keeping up with the Joneses – Film4 – 6.55pm
A favoured line for critics when this came out was: “This movie is not worth keeping up with.”
But for its many flaws, it will provide a reasonably fun escape without taxing the brain too much.
Jon Hamm, Gal Gadot, Isla Fisher and Alan from the hangover Zach Galifianakis star.
Jack Reacher – ITV4 – 9pm
This only got 64% on Rotten Tomatoes, but it’s a damn fine action movie that is worth your time if you haven’t seen it.
Bumblebee – Film4 – 9pm
Another Transformers movie. Realistically, they should have stopped making them many years ago.
But this one does have a little bit of charm at times.
Mean Machine – Comedy Central 10pm
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, football was the real winner here.
Death Race – ITV4 – 11.20pm
Jason Statham teams up with a muscle car and there’s also some very bad one-liners.
