Yesterday we reported that
Met Éireann had issued a strong weather warning across five counties in Ireland, and today the Coast Guard has urged that you listen to any advice they might give during while the warning is in place.
The status yellow wind warning has been issued Galway, Mayo, Clare, Cork and Kerry.
The warning was issued on Friday at 3pm and it's active from 6pm on Sunday until 9am on Monday.
Met Éireann have warned that: "Some very strong west, veering northwest winds are expected to affect western and southwestern coastal counties later Sunday, overnight and into Monday morning with mean speeds of 55 to 65km/h gusts of 90 to 110km/h.
"Winds will be strongest in the exposed hilly and coastal areas with very high seas along the coasts during this period."
Similarly, the Coast Guard has advised the public to be careful on exposed coasts, cliffs and piers, harbour walls and promenades along the Atlantic seaboard, particularly during high tide.
Also, the Garda Síochána released a statement warning drivers to take extra car on the roads as the weather will lead to more treacherous driving conditions.
