Ireland’s largest theatre, the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, has been officially put on sale with the price tag reported to be over €20m.

Do you fancy owning your very own 2,111-seater theatre? Well then, you better crack open the piggy bank and start counting, as the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre has been put on sale by receivers Paul McCann & Stephen Tennant of Grant Thornton.

While the theatre, which was originally named the Grand Canal Theatre, is currently up for sale, the Bord Gáis naming rights will continue to stand until the contract runs out in 2018.

According to RTÉ, the venue has hosted over 1,100 performances since it opened its doors in 2010.

Speaking about the sale, CBRE, the property agent handling the sale, said: “The Bord Gáis Energy Theatre is a trophy asset which affords investors and operators a unique opportunity to acquire a world class specialist asset offering considerable growth potential.”
