She had identified victims in a Facebook reel.

A woman has been sentenced to three months in jail for breaching the anonymity of the victims of Jeffrey Donaldson.

The former MP and former Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) leader Donaldson was convicted in June of 18 sex offences, including one count of rape, relating to the abuse of two women when they were children.

His 59-year-old wife Eleanor Donaldson was deemed not fit to stand trial, but the jury found in a trial of the facts that she committed the acts as alleged, including aiding and abetting the offending of her husband.

Donna Toman, 55, from the Lord Moira Park area of Ballynahinch, appeared before Downpatrick Magistrates' Court on Monday. Toman has previously worked as a Dolly Parton impersonator.

She had pled guilty to breaching a lifetime ban on publishing information likely to lead to the identification of the victims. She did not name the victims, Toman did give information which meant it was likely members of the public would be able to identify her.

All victims of sex offences are given anonymity for life under the law.

The judge said at the time, it was a “serious offence”. The charges state that Toman “published a matter, namely a Facebook Reel, which was likely to lead members of the public to identify a person as the person against whom a qualifying offence is alleged to have been committed.”

Ms Toman was released on bail pending appeal.
