Already in this Cocktail How-to Guide we've done simple, we've done complicated, we've tried a traditional lads' favourite and attempted to impress the ladies. Time for a classic.
A whiskey sour is without doubt the most classic of whiskey cocktails and wouldn't look out of place in the hands of a certain Don Draper from Mad Men. With that in mind, it's got a timeless quality and can be appreciated by anyone with a thirst and refined taste.
Bear in mind that while today is Good Friday and you won't be able to buy some of these the below ingredients today, this is still the ideal cocktail to enjoy Easter this weekend.
What you'll need
- 60ml of Jameson
- 20ml freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 10ml of gomme syrup
- Dash of egg white
- Dash of angosutra bitters
- Orange twist.
Once you've got all that, shake long and hard on rock ice and double strain into a sour glass or coupe, before garnishing with an orange twist.
JOE's series of cocktail videos are brought to you by Jameson.
