Our TV movie pick for tonight (Thursday, 12 February) is Black Sunday, the 1977 thriller from director John Frankenheimer (The Manchurian Candidate, Ronin).
Based on the novel of the same name by Thomas Harris (The Silence of the Lambs), the film revolves around a plot to commit a terrorist attack at the Super Bowl.
Starring Bruce Dern (The Driver), Marthe Keller (Marathon Man) and Robert Shaw (Jaws), Black Sunday was praised upon release for its performances, stylish direction and thrilling set-pieces.
Quentin Tarantino, meanwhile, has stated that the sequence in his action flick Kill Bill: Volume 1, where Daryl Hannah's villain in disguise as a nurse attempts to kill the hero, is a homage to a similar sequence in Black Sunday.
The '70s movie is airing on TV tonight on the channel Legend at 9pm. It is also available to rent on Apple TV, Google Play and the Sky Store.
