Duck, You Sucker!
Also known as A Fistful of Dynamite, this '70s Western is from Sergio Leone, the director of The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.
It follows a Mexican bandit (Rod Steiger) and a former IRA member (James Coburn) who fall in with a band of revolutionaries at the beginning of the 1913 Mexican Revolution.
F/X / F/X 2
Bryan Brown stars in these two action thrillers as a special effects expert who works with the police.
Four Letters of Love
A 2025 Irish romantic drama starring Gabriel Byrne, Helena Bonham Carter and Pierce Brosnan.
Fruitvale Station
Black Panther and Sinners director Ryan Coogler made his feature directorial debut with this biographical drama.
The film reconstructs the final 24 hours in the life of Oscar Grant (Michael B. Jordan), a young black man who, in 2009, was shot dead by a police officer on a train station platform in Oakland, California, while unarmed.
A Ghost Story
A haunting existential drama about a recently deceased, a white-sheeted ghost (Casey Affleck) who returns to his suburban home to console his bereft wife (Rooney Mara).
He discovers, however, that in his spectral state, he has become unstuck in time, forced to watch passively as the life he knew and the woman he loves slowly slip away.
The Great Escape
The '60s classic about Allied soldiers imprisoned in a German POW camp in WWII who plot to escape.
Green Room
A travelling punk band find themselves being targeted by murderous white supremacists in this brilliantly tense thriller we've recommended before.

Lakelands
This Irish drama, with a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, sees Saipan star Éanna Hardwicke play an aspiring GAA star in a small Irish town who struggles to get back into the sport after suffering a head injury on a night out.
House of Guinness' Danielle Galligan is also part of the cast.
Ma
A fun horror thriller in which Oscar-winner Octavia Spencer plays a lonely middle-aged woman who becomes obsessed with a group of local teens.
Melania
The 2026 widely panned documentary about Melania Trump, the first lady of the United States.
Nocturnal
A powerful 2019 drama follows a cynical schoolgirl (Lauren Coe) who builds a secret friendship with an older handyman (Cosmo Jarvis).
One Night in Millstreet
A 2023 documentary about the 1995 super-middleweight championship fight between Chris Eubank and Steve Collins at Millstreet, County Cork
Ouija: Origin of Evil
From director Mike Flanagan (The Haunting of Hill House), this horror prequel, based around Ouija boards, is one of those rare follow-ups that is miles and miles better than its predecessor.

Raging Bull
Robert De Niro won his second Oscar for this black-and-white biographical sports drama, directed by his frequent collaborator Martin Scorsese.
In the film, De Niro plays Jake LaMotta, a former middleweight boxing champion whose turbulent personal life is beset by rage and jealousy.
Rain Man
Dustin Hoffman won an Oscar for this '80s drama in which he plays an autistic man who embarks on a cross-country trip with his younger, estranged and arrogant brother (Tom Cruise).
Redemption of a Rogue
This Irish black comedy is about a troubled man (Aaron Monaghan) who returns to Cavan when his father dies.
The dad's will states that he must not be buried on a wet day or else his sons will be disinherited. Unfortunately for them, it begins to rain endlessly.
The Ritual
In this excellent horror thriller, a group of old British friends reunite for a trip to a Swedish forest, but encounter a menacing presence in the woods that’s stalking them.
Savages
This darkly fun crime thriller follows two cannabis growers (Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Taylor Kitsch) as they confront the Mexican drug cartel (represented by Benicio del Toro and Salma Hayek) that kidnapped their girlfriend (Blake Lively).
Scott Pilgrim vs the World
Michael Cera plays Scott, a slacker bass guitarist in a garage-rock band, who falls in love with the mysterious Ramona (Mary Elizabeth Winstead).
It turns out, however, she has an army of ex-boyfriends who will stop at nothing to eliminate him from her list of suitors.
One of the funnest movies of the 21st century.
Shutter Island
Another Martin Scorsese-directed film, this 1950s-set thriller stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Mark Ruffalo.
The pair play detectives who come to the titular island in Boston Harbor to investigate its criminal psychiatric facility after one of its patients goes missing.
The Silence of the Lambs
This classic '90s serial killer film is still the only horror ever to win Best Picture at the Oscars.
That might change soon depending on how well Sinners does this weekend...
Something Wild
From the same director of The Silence of the Lambs, Jonathan Demme, this delightful romantic comedy-thriller sees an uptight investment banker (Jeff Daniels) go on an impromptu road trip with a mysterious, care-free woman (Melanie Griffith).
The pair face trouble, however, when the woman's ex-convict husband (Ray Liotta) turns up.
Tale of Tales
John C. Reilly, Salma Hayek and Vincent Cassel star in this 2015 horror fantasy based on a collection of Italian fairy tales.
The Neon Demon
In this stylish horror thriller from the director of Drive, an aspiring model (Elle Fanning) moves to Los Angeles, where her youth and vitality make her a target for a group of beauty-obsessed women.
Thunderbolt and Lightfoot
A great '70s action comedy about a bank robber (Clint Eastwood) who gets his old gang back together to organise a daring new heist, with the help of a young car thief (Jeff Bridges).
Tropic Thunder
Ben Stiller, Jack Black and Robert Downey Jr. headline this satirical action comedy about a group of prima donna actors making a Vietnam War film, whose production goes off the rails.

Us
This excellent horror thriller was writer-director Jordan Peele's follow-up to his Oscar-winning breakthrough Get Out.
It follows an ordinary family (led by Academy Award-winner Lupita Nyong'o) who find themselves targeted by murderous doppelgängers.
Vera Cruz
This classic '50s Western centres on a group of American mercenaries tasked with transporting a large shipment of Imperial gold to the port of Veracruz, who begin to have second thoughts about their allegiances.
World Breaker
This new sci-fi horror thriller from cult director Brad Anderson (The Machinist, Session 9) revolves around a father (Luke Evans) trying to keep his daughter safe as Earth is invaded by monstrous creatures from another dimension.
