Donegal footballer Kevin Cassidy has said that Celtic-bound Jimmy McGuinness is joining the best club in the world, but that it is a bad day for Donegal GAA.

The Gaoth Dobhair was controversially axed from the panel this year after his contribution to the book 'This Is Our Year' which McGuinness felt breached the teams trust, but appears to be wishing the Glenties man all the best in his new role.
The defender took to Twitter this afternoon stating that McGuinness is joining the best club and supporters in the world but also laments the fact that is is a bad day for Donegal GAA.

Cassidy still harbours ambitions of playing for his county again and the 2011 All-Star will hope to put to bed previous issues with the manager for the coming season.
For now however, the former captain is getting behind McGuinness as he starts a new chapter in his managerial career.
