Fans of the iconic Home Alone movies were taken aback earlier this week when the actor who played Mark Murchins revealed what he has been up to in recent years.
Daniel Stern appeared as Marv in the first Home Alone film all the way back in December, 1990.
He also appeared in the sequel two years later, as well as other smash hits like Rookie of the Year and Bushwhacked.
While we all think of Marv as a crazy-haired, maniac who suffered time and again at the hands of the eight-year-old Kevin McCallister, what the actor who played the beloved character is up to these days couldn't be further from the antics of Mr Murchins.
Stern has stepped away from the spotlight in recent years, and is now embracing country life - living on a farm as a cattle rancher and sculptor.
Opening up about his change in career on his art website, he wrote: "When I was a kid, I was a terrible student but I excelled in all things artistic - theatre, choir, band, woodshed, metal shop, ceramics, and sculpture.
"I dropped out of high school when I was seventeen and moved to New York to become an actor. I got married and was a father by the time I was 23, and obviously had to just focus on my show business career."
Acknowledging he 'did a lot of great movies', Stern shared that there simply came a point where he missed being away from his family.
"I decided to stop travelling so much, stay home and focus on my family and my other artistic passions," he added. "The result of that decision is that I have a wonderful family life and this body of work."
Stern regularly updates fans about his life on the farm on social media, taking to TikTok earlier this week to share his citrus harvest featuring a bunch of lemons and tangerines to make juice out of for his friends and family.
And it's clear Home Alone fans found the update beyond heartwarming.
One TikTok user commented: "I'm glad Marv changed career paths."
A second added: "What I love the most is seeing famous people doing normal people stuff."
"Yes Daniel Stern at Christmas juicing on a farm," a fourth wrote. "Marv is a farmer this is the best thing on my FYP right now!"
Another beamed: "THE Daniel Stern on my fyp?! Just before Christmas?! YES!!"
One more TikTok user added: "This is exactly how life should be."
Who knew Marvel would end up living such a wholesome and peaceful life!
