Ireland's favourite Christmas movie has been revealed.

With the big day just around the corner, new research from Virgin Media Ireland has resulted in a list of the countries most-loved festive flicks.

The new study compiled the top 100 highest-grossing Christmas films and analysed their search volumes each December since 2021.

The result is a feel-good festive line-up of the nation’s favourite Christmas movies, with four of the top 10 movies were released between 1946-1990.

Classics Love Actually and Home Alone topped the list for Ireland's most-loved Christmas movie, both gaining 74,000 searches every December over the past four years.

Coming in at number three is the action-packed adventure film Red One, with 60,500 searches, while Die Hard pulled in 40,500 searches, solidifying its often-argued label as a Christmas film.

2003 hit Elf rounded out the top five with an equal amount of 40,500 searches.

So there you go! Whether you’re looking for a heartfelt romance, or laugh-out-loud festive family fun, this list, checkin' it twice, has something for everyone.
