The Central Statistics Office has revealed that Dublin has the highest percentage of binge drinkers in the country.
In the capital, 86% of people aged 15 and over drank alcohol, which was the highest proportion in Ireland.
About one in five persons (19%) who drink alcohol and are aged 15 and over in Dublin binge drink at least once a week.
For clarification purposes, consuming six or more units of alcohol in one sitting is classified as binge drinking.
Among people aged 15 and over who drink alcohol, the lowest rate of binge drinking at least once a week was in the West at just 12%.
The Border and Midland regions had the lowest proportions of people who drank alcohol at 77%.
