Mars Food has apologised for what it has described as “an isolated incident”.
Mars Food has announced it is voluntarily recalling select product branches of an Uncle Ben’s rice product from stores due to the possibility of the presence of glass.
Select batches of Uncle Ben’s Brown Basmati 250g ready to heat microwaveable rice pouches will be recalled in what Mars Food calls a “precautionary step”.
Mars Food has advised retailers and consumers to check any packs of the affected pouches featuring the best before codes listed below and said that the product should not be consumed.

Mars Food said that the recall is an isolated incident and that no other Uncle Ben’s products have been affected or are included in the recall and are safe to consume.
“At Mars Food, our number one priority is food safety,” a statement read.
“We are deeply committed to keeping our food safe and take situations such as these extremely seriously. We apologise for any inconvenience.”
