Fantastic news for those of you who love your coffee

Get it into you.

JOE

Drink on.

Some people just can’t live without their daily dose of coffee. Whether just the one cup a day does the business or whether you can’t keep your cup filled enough, there’s some good news for you.

According to the MedicalXpress, drinking a cup of coffee each day could increase your lifespan by 12% while doubling your intake of coffee could increase it to almost 20%.

Researchers from the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) and Imperial College London conducted the study using more than 185,000 Americans aged 45 to 75 over a 15 year period.

The study was based solely on their coffee-drinking habit.

They found that people who drink coffee are healthier and live longer than those who do not. It adds to previous research conducted in the past where it was found that coffee could reduce types of cancer, diabetes and other chronic diseases.

The study, which will be published in the Annals of Internal Medicine in the coming weeks, found that around 16% of participants reported not drinking coffee at all, while just over 20% of those involved in the experiment confessed to irregular consumption.

Over one-third drank one cup a day, one-quarter drank two to three cups per day and less than 10% admitted to drinking four or more cups of coffee a day.
