Your taste in beer says a lot about you. Especially when you’ve had a skinful. According to a new study from the University of Innsbruck, Austria the more you enjoy drinking Guinness the more likely you are to be a nutcase.
A questionnaire given to more than 1000 people assessed the link between bitter tasting booze and the anti-social personality traits like Machiavellianism, psychopathy, narcissism, sadism and aggression.
The results of all studies confirmed the hypothesis that bitter tastes are positively associated with dark personality traits. Basically, bitter tastebuds equal bitter soul.
Scientists involved in the study theorise that when the body imbibes bitters it thinks it is being poisoned. Most likely the psychos who enjoy it enjoy it as a strange form of self-harm.
The same study found that the equivalent anti-social behaviour is linked to black coffee and toxic water.
