The Health Products Regulatory Authority have issued the warning.

Batches of Durex condoms have been recalled due to fears that they may burst as they approach the end of their shelf life.

The defective products are “Durex Real Feel – Latex-Free” and “Durex Latex Free Polyisoprene” condoms and the relevant details are mentioned below.

The affected batch numbers are as follows: Durex Latex Free 12-Pack -Sku number 3014272: Batch numbers 1000444367 – expiry February 2021 and 1000433145 expiry January – 2021.

As for the other brand, it’s Durex Real Feel 12-Pack: Sku number 3014277 –  Batch numbers 1000419930 January 2021, 1000444367 February 2021 and 1000416206 December 2020.

The Health Products Regulatory Authority are advising consumers to check the brand and the date at the bottom of the outer packing and the foil wrapping to see if they’re in possession of these potentially defective condoms.

If anyone is in possession of these aforementioned brands/batch numbers, the authorities have advised people to “immediately discontinue the use of the affected product” and return them to the store where they were purchased for a full refund.
