Expert reveals why you shouldn’t wear underwear to bed

Paul Moore

Going commando is the best way to go.

Everyone has their own unique sleeping habits but an expert has suggested that going to bed in your underwear could end up being responsible for a number of health problems. Dr Alyssa Dweck states that sleeping in your boxers or knickers can increase the risk of infection, and in the case of men, affect their fertility levels.

Speaking with Shape, she states that “I often tell my patients to sleep without underwear. If [the groin] is constantly covered – especially by a fabric that’s not moisture-wicking or absorbent – moisture collects. That’s the perfect breeding ground for bacteria or yeast”.

See, Joey was right all along.

Commando

If you ever needed another reason to sleep naked then a study by fivethirtyeight should do the trick.

They studied the sperm count of men that worse loose and tight underwear for a year. They found that during the period when men wore tight underwear, they had sperm counts of only half as much as during the loose underwear periods.

There you have it guys, free and easy is the way to go.
