These are the finalists for one of Ireland’s toughest gym competitions

Calling all gym heads!

FLYEfit are in the midst of hunting for the biggest fitness junkies in the country.

They’re hosting The Games, a competition that tests their members across a plethora of gym exercises. It pushes them to the limit in their attempts to reign supreme.

Each contestant is put through a gruelling circuit made up of activities such as Burpees, ball slams and other fun stuff. Last weekend’s heat took place in the Macken Street branch of FLYEfit.

So far, 36 people have qualified for the final. The top female contestants from last weekend were Marta Rosilen and Clodagh Cronin posting times of 12:39 and 12:43 respectively. When we say gruelling, we’re not kidding. Just take a look at the full list of exercises that they were put through.

  • 24kg Kettlebell Squats x 15 reps
  • 7kg Ball Slams x 15 reps
  • Burpee Jump Overs x 10 reps
  • 20kg Push Presses x 15 reps.

For the men, Desmond Lavin and Sean McNally were top dogs doing a similar routine with times of 13:32 and 14:15.

If that wasn’t impressive enough, the contestants did three rounds of each.

The above people will join the 32 other contestants in the final which will be held in FLYEfit Swords this Saturday.
