Perfect for anyone and everyone who loves swimming!

During lockdown, many of us either discovered for the first time or rediscovered a love for swimming in Ireland.

And now that summer is here and the good weather has finally (sort of!) come through, there’s no doubt that we’ll all continue to enjoy the waves during the coming months.

If you are going to be swimming a lot this summer, whether on your own or with groups of friends, why not use it as an opportunity to have some fun AND raise money for an excellent cause at the same time?

Focus Ireland are encouraging swimmers all across the country to Make a Splash for Cash this summer, to raise vital funds for those experiencing homelessness in Ireland.

You can choose a location that suits you to set yourself a swimming challenge – be that in the sea, a lake or even your local swimming pool.

If you want to get involved, here’s what you need to do:

  • Pick a date to swim and set yourself a distance to complete or a target to reach.
  • Set up a fundraising page here and encourage your friends and family to donate.
  • Swim!

And if you want a bit of extra incentive, all participants that raise €50 will receive a Focus Ireland and Cully and Sully swimming cap, and anyone who raises over €100 will be entered into a raffle to win one of five Cully and Sully swimming robes.

You can register to take part here.

Any funds raised will go directly to Focus Ireland, so they can continue supporting families and individuals in need. Last year, Focus Ireland supported 12,300 people and moved 883 families out of homelessness, with the funds raised through initiatives like this.

In the face of the worst housing crisis in memory, and as Ireland recovers from the pandemic, your support for Focus Ireland could make a real and lasting difference to those most at risk. By raising €100, Focus Ireland’s Coffee Shop team can serve 55 hot meals to those experiencing homelessness, so it really is a worthy cause.

And don’t worry if you don’t fancy slipping on your Speedos and dipping into cold water, you can still show your support by donating to Focus Ireland right here.

Make a Splash for Cash for Focus Ireland, in association with Cully and Sully, set up your fundraising page here.
