If you ever find yourself having a heart attack, do yourself a favour by getting to Dublin. Why? Well apparently if you have a heart attack in Dublin, you’re much more likely to survive.
The Irish Independent reports that the reason why your chances of survival are higher in the capital city, is because of the Dublin Fire Brigade.
Now, your first thoughts may be along the lines of the following: “I’m having a f**king heart attack! I didn’t knock over a chip pan!!!”
This would be a typical reaction, but did you know that the Dublin Fire Brigade is only brigade in Ireland whose members are all trained paramedics? It’s also one of the very few Fire Brigades in the entire world who have a staff of paramedics.
So not only can they put out that chip pan fire, they can also kick-start your heart if needs be. Sound fellas those firemen.
Anyway because of their extra training, it means that Dublin has the second highest success rate for survival of cardiac arrests after Seattle in the US.
Yes, believe it or not.
So again, we reiterate, if you start feeling dodgy pains in your chest and a strange shooting sensation in your left arm, get your ass to Dublin and ring the Fire Brigade. They’ll be able to sort you out.
Alternatively do one better and ring the Fire Brigade and an Ambulance – at least then you’ll know you’re covered.
