We’re here for a good time and a long time, as it turns out.

Ireland is one of the highest ranking countries in the world when it comes to life expectancy, according to The World Economic Forum (WEF)'s Global Competitiveness Survey. With a life expectancy of 81 years, Ireland came in at the bottom end of the top 20 alongside Germany and the United Kingdom, just under three years short of the highest ranking country, Hong Kong, where life expectancy is 83.8 years. Life expectancy is just one of the categories examined in the Global Competitiveness Survey; as far as our economy is concerned, we ranked quite highly in 24th, with Switzerland, Singapore, Germany, USA and the Netherlands making up the top five.
