If you’re in the north-west on Saturday night, why not head to Finn Park for what should be a great night for a great cause?

This weekend, a host of lrish celebrities and local legends will be togging out at the home of Finn Harps in Ballybofey in honour of Liam and Saoirse Heffernan, both of whom sadly passed away from a rare and fatal condition known as Battens disease in recent years.

FAI Chief executive John Delaney, RTE GAA commentator Marty Morrissey and our own JOE founder and CEO Niall McGarry will form part of a celebrity All-Stars line-up that will take on a Finn Harps XI in a clash that kicks off in Finn Park at 7.45pm on Saturday night.

Local heroes Jason Quigley – whose recent move to the professional boxing ranks has proved a great success – and former Donegal footballer Kevin Cassidy will also be taking part, with all funds raised going to BUMBLEance Childrens Ambulance, which is a part of the Saoirse foundation and transports sick children all over Ireland. The service for critically ill children is free of charge and is making positive life impacts for children with life-limiting conditions.

Tickets (costing €5 for children, €10 for adults and €20 for a family) will be on sale at Finn Park prior to the match while family tickets are also available locally in Michael Murphy Sports & Leisure, Highland Radio and Donegal Daily. As well as the match, there’ll be plenty of fun for all the family, with the launch of a school children competition as well as face painting, fire-breathing and a carnival taking place on the night.

All in all it promises to be a great night for a great cause; for more information, check out the event’s Facebook page.
