A girl in Kentucky in the States had to have emergency surgery on her wrist after a hair bobble caused a serious infection.
Audree Kopp noticed a lump appearing on her wrist which gradually increased in size and redness so she went to the doctor.
They prescribed her antibiotics but they didn’t work so she ended up in the Accident and Emergency room where she needed to be operated on.
According to WLKY News Louisville, her doctor said it was likely that bacteria from Audree’s glittery hair bobble got under her skin through her pores and hair follicles causing three types of infection.
The lump had to be sliced off by doctor and Audree posted a photo of it on her Facebook (warning: graphic content).
The warning from doctors after the incident was for people to avoid wearing hair bobbles on their wrists, especially non-smooth or glittery types.
Ugh. Tell your missus and your man-bun equipped friends.
