PICS: This Irishman has been growing his hair for two years and is about to cut it all off for charity

Conor Heneghan

It’ll be sad to see the end of such a magnificent mane, but it’s all for a good cause.

Robert Giffney is the owner of HIM Barber Shop in North Dublin so it’s fair to say he knows his stuff when it comes to hair.

For the last two years, he has been growing his own hair and, as you can see, he has turned it into quite a magnificent mane in that time.

On Saturday, May 14, however, he’ll be shedding it all in aid of the Irish Cancer Society and donating the considerable amount of hair he’ll have got rid of to the Rapunzel Foundation, a charitable organisation that works to improve the lives of those living with hair loss (alopecia).

Speaking to JOE, Robert said that he has come into contact with a number of customers in the shop whose lives have been directly and indirectly influenced by cancer and he’s keen to do whatever he can to help the cause.

The event will be live-streamed on May 14 and you can find more information on the HIM Facebook page.
