To the victors go the spoils!

Over the past few weeks, a battle of epic proportions has been waged across Dublin. A select group of brave souls have pitted themselves against each other in a test of their strength, fortitude and endurance.

We’re talking about the FLYEfit ‘The Games’ competition which has been taking place in a number of their Dublin locations.

The contestants were put through a set of activities that would make most of us mere mortals cower in fear. Deadlifts, assault bikes and back squats weren’t the half of it.

Following a series of heats, the final took place last weekend on Saturday, 28 April in their Swords location.

The workouts that the contestants had to do are as follows:

Female workout
3 rounds for time
– 40kg back squat x 10
– 15 cals on ski erg
– 60kg deadlift x 10
– 15 cals on assault bike
– 20kg push press x 10
– 15 cals on assault runner

Male workout
3 rounds for time
– 70kg back squat x 10
– 15 cals on ski erg
– 70kg deadlift x 10
– 15 cals on assault bike
– 40kg push press x 10
– 15 cals on assault runner

Jen Furphy won in the women’s category with a mind-blowing time of 15 minutes and 40 seconds. Meanwhile, Roman Koprucki proved himself top dog in the men’s division, completing the circuit in an incredibly impressive time of 11 minutes and 59 seconds. Just reading those stats has us sweating through our shirts.

If you want an idea of just how tough this contest was, take a look at the video below.
