There’s a really cool adventure festival taking place in Wicklow this summer

For those of you with a passion for the outdoors…

Music festivals are a hugely popular summer activity in Ireland with a smorgasbord of options for those searching for weekend of music combined, in some cases, with plenty of alcohol.

But perhaps the idea of standing in a dirty field isn’t your cup of tea, you’d much rather be running around said field, doing yoga in said field or kayaking/wakeboarding in a nearby river. If this happens to be the case then this adventure festival in Wicklow might be worth checking out.

The 53 Degrees North Adventure Festival is running on Saturday and Sunday, 4-5 August 2018 in Blessington Lakes in Wicklow.

The two days will consist of activities like camping, hiking, hillwalking, mountain biking, fat biking, bushcraft, archery, axe throwing, climbing, kayaking, wakeboarding, sailing, yoga, pilates, nature walks, expert talks and mindfulness classes.

There will also be live music, a film night hosted by the Kendal Mountain Festival, and it will have all the usual beer and food facilities of a normal festival catering for all your needs.

So what type of person would this festival suit? According to the organisers, the Adventure Festival is: “For the runners, climbers, hikers and lovers of the outdoors. We are for explorers whose sense of adventure burns bright.”

There are weekend camping and day tickets available to buy on their website here.
