It’s very important to remain hydrated…
The sunny weather is great, and puts people in a joyful mood. With the only exception being when you’re sweating your ass off in work. Then, things get a little uncomfortable.
It’s hugely important during the hot weather, when you may be sitting outside or in a sweltering hot room, that you consume plenty of water and remain hydrated.
Drinking enough water has a lot of benefits including flushing toxins out of the body and maintaining kidney health and good bowel movements.
It also ensures that you don’t feel lethargic during the day, and drinking water can ensure that you’ve enough energy throughout the day. Dehydration can also cause headaches as well as bad breath. You don’t want to be known as the person with the bad breath, do you?
So to make sure you’re not tired, your kidney health is good, your bowel movements are fine, you don’t have headaches and your breath smells delightful, follow these simple tips to ensure you drink enough water.
Each morning
Every morning you wake up, start off by drinking a glass of water. It’s a great habit to get into and will ensure you start the day on the right foot.
Add some flavour
We’re not talking about dilutable drinks here as some of them can act as diuretics and leave you worse off then when you started.
Add some slices of cucumber, lemon or orange to your drink to give it some flavour. It will taste nicer and and it’s good for you all at the same time. Just make sure to thoroughly wash any fruit or vegetables you add to your water.
Avoid caffeine
If you’re drinking a lot of tea and coffee during the day, the chances are, you’ll need to go to the bathroom more often. So try to cut down on the amount of caffeine you intake.
But, if you find this impossible, at the very least, drink a glass of water after every caffeinated drink you consume.
The right types of foods
Eat foods that are high in water content. Cucumbers, melons and berries are all rich in water so consuming them will aid you in staying hydrated, while also providing a healthy snack as well.
Relate water to a task
Every time you do something, follow it up by drinking a glass of water. Say, if you go to the toilet, associate that with the need to drink a glass of water immediately afterwards.
