Keeping yourself active doesn’t have to be boring.

One of the most common things you hear when people say they don’t like going out for a jog or a cycle is that it’s too boring. While that might be true to a certain extent, staying active doesn’t have to be boring, and certainly doesn’t have to be monotonous.

That doesn’t mean you have to try something different every time, but it’ll take longer to get bored of trampoline classes than it would running the same circuit every week!

No matter what you do to keep yourself busy, you’re going to want to keep hunger at bay as well. Coated in delicious chocolate and packed full of protein, Cadbury Boost+Protein Peanut would make for a tasty reward after testing out some of these activities.

Drumming fitness

Drumming isn’t just a lot of fun and a solid way to make music, but it’s also a handy way to burn off calories.

It helps if you have a good sense of rhythm, but more than anything else this is the single most satisfying way to blow off steam.

Stand-up paddle boarding

This honestly isn’t as hard as it looks, but stand up paddle boarding is a great way to work everything from your core to your feet. Between trying to maintain your balance and stamina, it covers a lot of bases for something that is so low impact.

Plus, it’s also a great way of taking in the coastline. Dun Laoghaire Harbour is a particularly good place to go once the weather (hopefully) picks up this summer.

Downhill mountain biking

Especially if all you’ve experienced of cycling is back and forth to work, this is a hell of a lot of fun. While it’s important to start off with an easier route if you have little experience, your first taste is likely to be enough to get you hooked.

Flying down the side of a mountain on a bike is something that will never get old. Bike Park Ireland has eight different trails for all experience levels, with dedicated trucks to bring you up to the top.

Trampoline classes

Don’t let anyone ever tell you you’re too old to go on a trampoline.

Even after the most stressful of days at work, there’s no quicker way to get back to your best than hopping on a trampoline. You might not realise it at the time, but you’re also giving yourself an incredibly good workout to boot.
