Video: A teaser clip from the first episode of DRUNK, which airs on RTÉ2 tonight

This might be a little to close to the truth for us...

This might be a little too close to the truth for us…

We can all relate to having one or two many sherries on a night out, but RTÉ are taking a more scientific approach to the process of being rat-arsed drunk.

Drunk is a new series premièring tonight which examines the scientific, emotional, intellectual, and sexual results showing the effect that having too much alcohol can have on your body.

Eoghan McDermott presents the science-based study of what happens when ‘volunteer’ drinkers are invited to consume alcohol on camera. Best. Job. Ever.

The first episode focuses on the concept of ‘beer goggles’ and, while drunk, the participants are asked to perform a range of specially-designed tasks and challenges that are intended to highlight the effect of drinking on a person’s motor skills.

The trailer for DRUNK – how do we react to alcohol? is very interesting and we will definitely be watching this one at 9:30pm this evening on RTÉ2, with a six pack of beer cup of tea.

By the way, the people in this documentary look like they’re having the best time ever. We can’t blame them, but it’s all in the name of science.

We believe you.
