VIDEO: Ballyboden hurler explains how he overcame his developmental problems in this powerful video

Carl Kinsella

What a wonderful video.

Karl Reddy is a young man from Co. Dublin who has trouble processing information, which means he is sometimes slower to catch the finer details of his surroundings.

This developmental difficulty resulted in him feeling isolated, alone and unable to participate in conversations with his friends.

In order to escape situations that made him feel uncomfortable, Karl threw himself into practicing his hurling skills, often times heading to the hurling wall on his own to make himself the best athlete he could be.

This video tells of how Karl’s love of the sport and inspirational words from his mum helped him realise that he is as good as anyone else, and that everybody should play life to their strengths no matter what struggles they face.
