Video: Donegal’s Michael Murphy scored an unbelievable goal last night

Queen's University were the victims of this latest thunderbolt from the Donegal captain.

Queen’s University were the victims of this latest thunderbolt from the Donegal captain.

Thanks to the wonders of technology even midweek McKenna Cup games are videoed in full, with the best bits loaded onto YouTube for our viewing pleasure as soon as possible.

So big thanks go out to Jacksonsmediatv for putting this beautiful goal up so we can all see it. Donegal beat Queen’s University 3-17 to 3-5 but the goal of the night came from the powerful right boot of Michael Murphy. Picking up the ball fully 35 yards from goal, the Glenswilly man moved forward a  few steps before lashing a bullet of a shot past the keeper and into the top corner.

It really was a peach, a bit similar to his 2012 All-Ireland final goal in terms of ferocity, but from a much greater distance. Skip to 0.23 on the video to see it.

That’s fierce form to be in at this time of the year. The rest of the country should be very afraid…
