VIDEO: The Rubberbandits have made a wonderful video to support Pieta House

Is there a stronger voice on mental health in Ireland right now than The Rubberbandits?

The Limerick lads are perhaps best known for the comedy sketches and songs like Bags of Glue and Horse Outside, but lately the duo’s lead vocalist Blindboy Boatclub has been relentless in his efforts to bring mental health to the forefront of the national conversation.

Their latest attempt at direction attention towards charities that help those who suffer from mental illness is a short plea, posted to their Facebook, asking people to donate to Pieta House – or to take part in Pieta House’s Darkness Into Light walk, which will take place on May 7 this year.

By Blindboy’s maths, if everyone who likes the Rubberbandits Facebook page were to donate €2 to Pieta House, they would be able to provide 12 free counselling sessions for 720 people.
