Warning issued over undeclared peanuts in popular ice cream

Check your freezer for these…

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) has issued a warning following a recall of a popular brand of ice cream over undeclared peanut.

In a statement on their website, the FSAI wrote: “Belfield is recalling the below batch of Ice King Strawberry Cones because the product has been mis-packed with chocolate and nut ice creams.

“The product contains peanut which is not mentioned on the label. This may make the batch unsafe for consumers who are allergic to or intolerant of peanut.”

The way to identify the product in question is to check its packaging for the following information: Ice King Strawberry Cones; best before date: 01/11/2020; batch: 8-143; pack size: 660ml.

The FSAI has also attached a photo of the product in question in order to help consumers identify it.
